I. Matrix — not a score, but code

A score records events. A matrix records the rules for generating events. The piece Harmony is a matrix—a compiled input code that contains within itself the DNA of all sounds, all octaves and all harmonics. Not as notation—as a principle from which they all arise.

Each chord in the system is not a single sound, but a harmonic series stretching into infinity. When an open guitar plays E, what physically sounds simultaneously is: E1, E2, B2, E3, G♯3, B3, D4… and further, with decreasing amplitude. The matrix chooses tonics, but the physics of the instrument automatically triggers the entire spectrum.

A fractal is a structure in which each part contains information about the whole, and no part is chaos. This matrix is a fractal: the same rule operates at the level of the chord, the verse, the block and the entire system. Scalar self-similarity—and, as Part II shows, this also applies to the repetition of entire blocks.

II. Structure — numbers as architecture

11 verses, division 4 + 3 + 3 + 1

The matrix comprises 11 verses arranged into four parts forming a triple progression: Part I (4 verses, E major), Part II (3 verses, D major), Part III (3 verses, D major) and Part IV—the final, eleventh verse (C major → F major, instrumental). Sum: 4+3+3+1 = 11.

4 is a tetrahedron—the first three-dimensional form in geometry; as Part I it opens space. 3 is the simplest form of a closed flat figure—a triangle, stability; it appears twice (Part II and Part III) before the system opens into the finale (1).

Part III as fractal echo

Part III does not introduce new harmony—it repeats exactly the block of Part II (D major, the same chord sequence). This is not repetition from lack of ideas, but the application of the same principle that Part I describes as fractal: the rule that applies at the level of the chord (two identical tetrachords in each verse) also applies at the level of the block (two identical blocks of verses). Scalar self-similarity, this time visible in the architecture of the entire matrix, not only in a single verse.

Double tetrachord — DNA of each verse

Each verse consists of eight chords: two repeated four-bar phrases. This is redundancy encoding—exactly like the double helix of DNA: two strands carrying the same message, mutually securing each other. The pair of tetrachords is joined by a hinge chord (A in the E major block, G in the D major block)—the same harmonic function, a second lower. A self-coherent system: the logic does not change, only the pitch.

Asymmetry 4/3 — the fourth as form

Part I and Part II divide the first seven verses into blocks of 4 and 3. The ratio 4/3 is a perfect fourth—the simplest harmonic interval after the octave (2/1) and the fifth (3/2). Before the first note sounds, the music is already encoded in the proportion of the form.

φ ≈ 0.618 × 7 = 4.326—the golden ratio lands exactly on the boundary between Part I and Part II. Asymmetry does not collide with the golden ratio. Asymmetry is the golden ratio.

Why B, not B♭

B♭ is a lowered VII degree—a soft chord, discharging tension, closing the phrase. B (B natural) is the opposite: a secondary dominant leading back to E. The sequence D♯–B–F contains fragments of the chord B7 (dominant seventh), which harmonically points to the tonic E—that is, to the very beginning of the matrix. The spiral not only does not close—it actively indicates the point from which the next turn can begin.

C, D♯, B, F are four notes which together—spread across both tetrachords of Part IV—enharmonically contain all three possible diminished chords of the tempered system. The last verse of the matrix is a harmonic dictionary of tensions: a space of maximum possibility before the leap into the unknown.

IV. Harmonic spiral — motion in the circle of fifths

Reading the tonics of successive parts: E → D → C → F. Part II and Part III share the same tonic—they do not constitute separate motion, but a reinforcement (echo) of one stage of the spiral. The real tonic transitions are three: E→D, D→C, C→F—exactly the triple progression that the structure of the matrix speaks of.

Each of these transitions is subdominant motion—an outflow of energy without aggression, without enharmonic jumps—up to the last verse, where the tension of B7 enters. F from the last chord leads—through B as dominant—back to E...but only in the next octave, passing through all scales. The tonic of the first verse and the target point of the last are the same sound. The spiral closes and simultaneously opens. It is not a circle—it is a helix: the same point horizontally, a higher level vertically.

Two nodes — double helix

First node—at the boundary of φ, between verse 4 and 5 (Part I → Part II): the hinge chord A remains unresolved, silence, entrance of D.

Second node—the only fifth transition in the system: between verse 10 and 11 (Part III → Part IV), where G (end of the D major block) leads to C (beginning of the finale). This is the moment when the spiral leaves the D major zone and enters the open ending C major → F major.

Two suspension points, two levels of the same figure—double helix encoded in the architecture of time.

V. φ node — missing link

The spiral does not drop abruptly. It suspends at the point φ—and only from there continues its turn.

VI. Sacred geometry — Flower of Life and DNA code

The phrase “like the flower of life” appears in the fifth verse—the first verse of Part II—and is a conscious reference to the Flower of Life: a sacred geometry figure composed of overlapping circles with hexagonal symmetry. This pattern underlies many natural structures: honeycombs, snow crystals, cellular systems. For most listeners it is a pretty image—for one who knows the system it is a precise symbol placed not accidentally just after the φ node, where the system enters the second stage of the spiral.

The text has the layout of a DNA code: simple, logical, coherent. The chorus as a base nucleotide—repeatable. Each verse as a codon—replication of form with mutation of content. Evolution without chaos.

Resonance of numbers — 34560 and π

The number 34560 divided by 11 gives approximately 3141.8—which corresponds to π × 1000. The number π is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter: the foundation of the spiral, the circle, the cycle. The Flower of Life is a set of circles. 34560 = 2⁸ × 135—the power of two encoded in the core. A system closed in on itself at the level of numbers.

VII. F major — doors open, not closed

Verse 11 (Part IV) ends on F, without returning to any earlier tonic. The only verse in the entire system without closure—a boundary converging to zero, yet never zero. With B instead of B♭, F is not just an “open ending”. F after B7 is an unresolved dominant—active tension pointing to E. The matrix does not end. The matrix waits for the next sequence.

F major with B

active tension toward E (next cycle)

B7 indicates return to the tonic of the matrix

the spiral points to its own start

evolution with a vector

F major with B♭

passive opening without direction

B♭ discharges—softly closes the phrase

the spiral suspends without an address

evolution without direction

Verse 11 is instrumental—without text, without words. An open space for those who will come after the author. The next cycle will not be written by one person—it will be evolved by many. The matrix is ready.

The Fibonacci spiral has no end. Each point is simultaneously the closure of one turn and the opening of the next. B → F → D♯ is that point—a local node of tension. Only after fully passing through the spectrum of sounds can the spiral return to E as a new tonic.

VIII. Text — four parts of the same story

Part I · E major · verses 1–4

You are somewhere, far away, distant by 100 miles
I know you from the Internet and from a few shared moments
Please write, write to me, how to change fate
I would like to be with you, I want to hear your voice.

Part II · D major · verses 5–7

To love you and together with you create a new world,
To be in harmony all life long, like the flower of life.
Nothing will change this now, it is meant to stay so.
Let this moment not pass, let this moment last.

Part III · D major (echo) · verses 8–10

I will make a symphony out of life today, I will assemble it like a pattern,
I will arrange chaos into puzzles, in the key of E major.
Every note, every chord will create a world
To be in love and harmony, for billions of years.

Part IV · verse 11 · instrumental

The text is silent, only harmony speaks. The spiral goes beyond words.
